Why Integrated Medicine?

At our clinic, we firmly believe in the uniqueness of each patient and their condition. We understand that a one-size-fits-all approach simply won’t do. That’s why our licensed and trained medical specialists embrace an integrative medicine approach to healthcare. By combining the strengths of traditional medical care with alternative practices, we are able to provide personalized diagnoses and treatments tailored to each individual.

Our goal is to create a personalized care plan that brings together the best of both worlds, yielding healing results and an improved quality of life. We recognize that many of the conditions we treat are influenced by various factors such as diet, allergies, sleep patterns, and posture. With our integrated medical approach, our specialists can suggest non-invasive, drug-free treatments, and recommend beneficial lifestyle changes for effective pain management.

Alternative vs. Traditional Medicine

So what exactly is alternative medicine? Simply put, alternative medicine utilizes unconventional methods to treat illness, injury, and a host of other medical issues. Common alternative medical procedures and areas of study include:

  • Acupuncture – a traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses needles to stimulate specific points around the body
  • Chiropractic Care – a branch of medicine in which a trained professional called a chiropractor uses different techniques to adjust (“manipulate”) the spine or other parts of the body to alleviate pain and achieve proper alignment
  • Herbal Medicine – this alternative medical practice uses herbal supplements administered topically or ingested orally to heal wounds and mitigate chronic conditions.

Traditional, or conventional, medical treatments typically rely on drugs, radiation, and surgery to treat medical conditions. Since these methods can lead to reliance on medications, side effects, and lengthy recovery times, relying solely on these practices to treat pain conditions can lead to more problems for patients and can end up being ineffective.

The benefit of choosing a medical care partner like Progressive Health & Rehab for the treatment of your chronic pain condition is that you will receive the best care from licensed and skilled medical specialists whether it is with an alternative or conventional medical treatment. Our staff is experienced and trained to discuss all of your options with you so that you can make the best and most educated decisions on your health care treatments.

Based on your unique medical situation, we can review available treatments, the pros and cons, and even the ins and outs of your insurance coverage.
